Shanghai to host Global Developer Conference for AI

Shanghai is set to host the annual Global Developer Conference (GDC) for AI (artificial intelligence) later this month.

This AI festival, featuring exhibitions, forums and the debut of AI models, tools and hardware, will take place on 23rd and 24th March in the West Bund region of Xuhui District.

Over 30,000 developers from more than 100 developer communities are due to attend the event, Shine News reports.

The GDC will showcase an extensive agenda which will feature renowned speakers including Zack Kass from OpenAI, alongside influential figures such as Silicon Valley leader Steve Hoffman and Maureen Lonergan, Vice President at Amazon.

Led by the Shanghai Commission of Economy and Informatisation among other entities, the GDC will serve as a showcase for the future of technology.

The conference will shine a spotlight on the entirety of the AI industry, covering everything from upstream to downstream applications, as well as the debut of pioneering AI models, toolchains, and intelligent hardware, according to the organisers.

Furthermore, the event will showcase the integration of significant application scenarios at the city level and the launch of national open-source projects in Shanghai, underscoring the city's dedication to becoming an AI innovation hub.
